Hatch Camp for startups in Manila

ROBERTO R. ROMULO Chairman 16 June 2000 To e-ASEAN Task Force Members: As part of the Task Force's activities in the area of dot com incubator pilot projects, we are jointly participating in a "Hatch Camp for Start-Ups" for Internet company start-ups together with IBM, Nomura, and hatchasia.com, an incubator company based in the Philippines. The Hatch Camp is a two-day seminar and workshop on 13-14 July 2000 for technopreneurs to assist them in the process of starting an Internet company, including creating a business plan, approaching funders, marketing and finance strategies, etc. Patterned after Silicon Valley's garage.com Boot Camp for Internet Start-Ups, the Hatch Camp (http://www.hatchasia.com/hatchcamp.html) will take place in Manila, and is a step towards the replication of this type of incubator activity in the rest

of ASEAN. I look forward to seeing you again for the third e-ASEAN Task Force meeting in KL on 1-2 August 2000 and hearing a report on the Hatch Camp, among other updates.
